Fairview Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is usually open the first Saturday of each month, from 10 AM - Noon. When the weekend is on or near a holiday, or the Fellowship Hall is scheduled for an event, it is moved to the following Saturday.
The Fairview Presbyterian Church Food Pantry opened in November , 2002. The purpose was to design and implement a community outreach program for Fairview Township and the West Colunty area. Our mission is to serve with grace those in need of food supplement. We currently serve about 80 families.
We are very thankful for the support we receive from the community. St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard, St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairview, St. Stephen's Episcopal and Holy Cross Catholic Churches in Fairview,Fairview School District, various Girl Scout Troops, our local AA organization, the Fairview Community Council, and the Kiwanis Club of West County have all donated food items, household items, and money. We also receive private donations.
Thank you to Albion Prison for getting our food order each month at Second Harvest, and to Neuro-Restorative in Fairview for helping set up every month!
We wouldn't be able to do this ministry without our volunteers. Thank you to all who give their time every month with set-up, sorting and distribution. We are always looking for more help! If anyone is interested in helping with anything please call Amy at the church office.
If you or someone you know needs help with food, don't hesitate to call. Recipients must live in Fairview or Girard.
The Car Clinic of Fairview Presbyterian Church was developed by Pastor Chuck Cammarata to help people with car maintenance and repairs who can't afford to have it done elsewhere. We also donate cars to those who can't afford one.
We do car maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations. Basic repairs are done such as brakes, muffler replacements, and tune-ups. These are done on an as needed basis.
In 2009 a new garage was built for this ministry. It was donated by Dave and Gail Sanner in memory of their son Stephen Sanner. In 2010 we received a lift that makes the work a lot easier.
Thank you to the men who volunteer for this ministry. We couldn't do this if it weren't for them! If anyone is interested in helping, please call the church office at 474-3914.
The need for cars and for financial help with repairs is increasing. This ministry is run strictly on donations. If anyone has a car they would like to donate,or would like to contribute monetarily, please call. It will be very much appreciated! You will receive a letter for tax purposes.
If anyone needs help with repairs, please call and make an appoinment!
What started out as a Fairview High School program offering warm winter clothing in 2009 turned into a permanent place where one in need of clothing can go.
We thank the area churches, Fairview Schools, and many individuals for all their donations. The community has come together for this ministry. The response to our request for donations has been overwhelming!
We receive many beautiful items in mint condition, such as dress clothes and men’s suits. We are in touch with the different clothing programs in the city of Erie and donate needed items to them. The Red Cross has us as a referral when victims lose their belongings in a fire.
If you would like to donate please call the church office at 474-3914. If anyone is in need of clothing, please call. We would be glad to have you visit our closet anytime for what you need!
